Services for Minor Children

The Michigan Home Help Program is not just for adults—it also provides services for minor children. These services are available when a child has significant physical, medical, emotional, or mental impairments that require higher levels of intervention than typically needed by children of the same age.

  • Supplemental Care: Personal care services supplement usual parental care and are justified by the child’s unique needs.

  • Caregiver Flexibility: If parents are unable to provide care due to a medical condition, employment, or education, another caregiver can be hired to perform activities such as ADLs, medication administration, and meal preparation.

Important Note: Parents cannot be paid caregivers for their minor children.
